I treated my first pregnancy as an eating free-for-all. I knew better but didn't really care. As a result I gained 50+ pounds (I stopped looking at the scale around then), due in no small part to endless consumption of walnuts. After all was said and done, I had 30 lbs new fat after the baby was born. Those were on top about about 25 marriage pounds. It was not a good time for me physically.
After a year of living in the new mommy fog, I finally got my act together and managed to drop 23 pounds through dieting and running.
But Memorial Day weekend 2011, I saw those two little lines and everything changed.
This time I am trying to have a healthy pregnancy with only moderate (as appropriate) weight gain. I've temporarily changed the title of this blog to reflect this focus.
